Pope's video message on the eve of his trip to Sarajevo
Vatican City, 2 June 2015 (VIS) – Pope Francis has sent a video message to the population and the faithful of Bosnia and Herzegovina in view of his upcoming apostolic trip to the capital Sarajevo on Saturday 6 June. The following is the full text of the message.
“Dear brothers and sisters,
In just a few days I will travel to Sarajevo to be with you. This thought brings me joy, and I wish to extend my most cordial greetings to all of you who live in this city and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I will come among you, with the help of God, to confirm the faith of Catholics, to support ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, and above all to encourage peaceful coexistence in your country. I invite you to join me in prayer so that this apostolic trip may bear the desired fruits for the Christian community and for society as a whole.
'Peace be with you'. This is the motto of my visit. They are the words with which the risen Jesus greeted his disciples when he appeared in their midst in the Cenacle, on the eve of Passover. It is He, the Lord, our strength and our hope, Who gives us His peace, so that we might welcome it in our heart and spread it with joy and with love.
For my part, I prepare to come among you as a brother, as a messenger of peace, to express to everyone – to everyone! – my respect and friendship. I would like to announce God's mercy, tenderness to every person, to every family and to every community.
Dear brethren of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I assure you all of my affection and my strong spiritual closeness. I encourage you, Catholics, to be witnesses of faith and God's love for your fellow citizens, working for a society that makes its way towards peace in fraternity and mutual collaboration.
As I await our encounter, I invoke upon Sarajevo and the entire country the Lord's blessing and the maternal protection of the Virgin Mary. Thank you!”

June is Dedicated to the Heart of #Jesus - Consecration - Novena - Litany to SHARE

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee.
This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee. I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.
I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants. Amen. . -- St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Efficacious Novena To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus
(This novena prayer was recited every day by Padre Pio for all those who asked his prayers)
 I. O my Jesus, You have said, ‘Truly I say to you, ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.’ Behold, I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of… Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

II. O my Jesus, You have said, ‘Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, He will give it to you.’ Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of… Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III. O my Jesus, You have said, ‘Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.’ Encouraged by Your infallible words, I now ask for the grace of… Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us poor sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate heart of Mary, Your tender mother and ours.
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us. And after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen…
St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us

Verastegui, the producer of “Little Boy,” said that Christian actors should seek out relevant projects that don’t lead them to sacrifice their morality. “Use your creativity to find new opportunities that both align with your beliefs and inspire those around you,” he said. Verastegui, who is a life-long Catholic, said that he found himself living in a way that was not reflective of his Christian faith after his career in the entertainment industry took off, He then decided to change and make a promise to the God. Actor and producer Eduardo Verastegui “I made a promise to God that I would never again use my talents for something that would offend my faith, family or Latino culture,” he said. “Faith became the center of my life for the first time.” Verastegui  created Metanoia Films, a independent production company that makes wholesome films. Here he says, “We could control the message and stories being put out — movies where I didn’t have to close my mom’s eyes or my sisters wouldn’t be offended,” Verastegui said. ”With movies like ‘Bella’ and now ‘Little Boy,’ we are able to share family friendly messages that stay with you long after seeing the movie.” The producer believes that “Little Boy” holds the potential to bring out the inner-child in each audience member, reigniting the “innocence and purity”

More and bloodier wars in world: 180 thousand victims in 2014
The data from the International Institute of Strategic Studies show a 60%increase of victims of world conflicts over the past two years. The bloodiest war in Syria. In 2013 wars displaced 50 million people in the world: this figure had not been reached since WWII.

Rome (AsiaNews) - The number of deaths caused by the wars in the world grew by 60% in the last two years. The victims, totaled 180 thousand in 2014, while in 2012 there were 110 thousand. Although the number of conflicts has declined, the fighting is more violent, and often takes place in urban areas.
This is what emerges from the data published by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), who stress that Syria alone in the last year has seen 70 thousand people die (200 thousand since the beginning of the conflict in 2011).
Episodes of conflict have decreased from 63 in 2008 to 42 last year. This is due to the fact that some countries at risk of civil war such as Colombia and the Philippines seem on track to reaching peaceful resolutions.

The IISS study says that the increase of the victims is caused by the "inexorable growth in the intensity of violence", led by the jihadist wars in the Arab world, including attacks of the Islamic State in settlements as Mosul and Tikrit.

According to Nigel Inkster, Director of Studies in international threats and political risk at IISS, the most serious problem is that "conflicts occur more often in cities, and by definition therefore encourage a greater number of civilian casualties."

According to the IISS, the Syrian conflict has caused 3.4 million refugees, 1.4 of which in the last year alone. The UN figures report that in 2013 there were more than 50 million displaced persons in the world. It is the first time that figure has been reached since the Second World War.

After Syria, the country where most people were killed in 2014 was Iraq (18 thousand), the third Mexico with clashes between rival gangs (15 thousand). In Afghanistan there were 7,500 victims; Ukraine 4.5000. Despite these numbers, Inker says that "the portrait of 2014 is inconsistent, because there are promising signs of hope for improvement, even if the levels of violence remain high." Today's Mass Readings and Video : Tuesday June 2, 2015

Tuesday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 354

Reading 1TB 2:9-14
On the night of Pentecost, after I had buried the dead,
I, Tobit, went into my courtyard
to sleep next to the courtyard wall.
My face was uncovered because of the heat.
I did not know there were birds perched on the wall above me,
till their warm droppings settled in my eyes, causing cataracts.
I went to see some doctors for a cure
but the more they anointed my eyes with various salves,
the worse the cataracts became,
until I could see no more.
For four years I was deprived of eyesight, and
all my kinsmen were grieved at my condition.
Ahiqar, however, took care of me for two years,
until he left for Elymais.

At that time, my wife Anna worked for hire
at weaving cloth, the kind of work women do.
When she sent back the goods to their owners, they would pay her.
Late in winter on the seventh of Dystrus,
she finished the cloth and sent it back to the owners.
They paid her the full salary
and also gave her a young goat for the table.
On entering my house the goat began to bleat.

I called to my wife and said: “Where did this goat come from?
Perhaps it was stolen! Give it back to its owners;
we have no right to eat stolen food!”
She said to me, “It was given to me as a bonus over and above my wages.”
Yet I would not believe her,
and told her to give it back to its owners.
I became very angry with her over this.
So she retorted: “Where are your charitable deeds now?
Where are your virtuous acts?
See! Your true character is finally showing itself!”

GospelMK 12:13-17

Some Pharisees and Herodians were sent
to Jesus to ensnare him in his speech.
They came and said to him,
“Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man
and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion.
You do not regard a person’s status
but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.
Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?
Should we pay or should we not pay?”
Knowing their hypocrisy he said to them,
“Why are you testing me?
Bring me a denarius to look at.”
They brought one to him and he said to them,
“Whose image and inscription is this?”
They replied to him, “Caesar’s.”
So Jesus said to them,
“Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar
and to God what belongs to God.”
They were utterly amazed at him.

Saint June 2 : Sts. Marcellinus & Peter : Martyrs : Died 304

Sts. Marcellinus & Peter
MARTYRS
Feast: June 2

     Information:
Feast Day:June 2
Died:304 AD, Rome
Major Shrine:Santi Marcellino e Pietro
Marcellinus was a priest, and Peter an exorcist, both of the clergy of Rome, and eminent for their zeal and piety. In the persecution of Dioclesian, about  the year 304, they were condemned to die for their faith: and by a secret order of the judge, the executioner led them into a forest, that the holy men being executed privately, no Christians might be acquainted with the place of their sepulchre. When he had brought them into a thicket overgrown with thorns and briers, three; miles from Rome, he declared to them his sanguinary commission. The saints cheerfully fell to work themselves, grubbed up the brambles, and cleared a spot fit for their sepulchre. After they were beheaded, their bodies were buried in the same place. Some time after, Lucilla, a pious lady, being informed by revelation, and assisted by another devout lady named Firmina, took up their bodies and honorably interred them near that of St. Tiburtius on the Lavican road in the Catacombs. Pope Damasus assures us, that, when a child, he learned all these particulars from the mouth of the executioner himself, and he has inserted them in a Latin epitaph with which he adorned their tomb. Anastasius the librarian testifies from ancient registers, that Constantine the Great built here a church in honor of these martyrs, in which he caused his mother St. Helena to be buried under a porphyry tomb, on the Lavican road, three miles from Rome, and that he gave to this church a paten, weighing thirty-five pounds, of pure gold, with many other rich presents; which is also mentioned by Bede, Ado, and Sigebert. The porphyry mausoleum of St. Helena is still shown among other antiquities near the Lateran basilica. Honorius I. and Adrian I. repaired this church and cemetery of St. Tiburtius, and SS. Marcellinus and Peter, as Anastasius mentions. Not long after, the bodies of SS. Marcellinus and Peter were translated into Germany on the following occasion. Eginhard, a German, the favorite secretary of Charlemagne, and his wife Emma, by mutual consent, made a vow of perpetual continency; and becoming a monk, was chosen abbot of Fontenelle, and, in 819, abbot of Ghent. Emma died in 836, to his great affliction, as appears from the letters of Lupus, abbot of Ferrieres, to him. This great man, in 827, sent his secretary to Rome, to procure from pope Gregory IV. some relies of martyrs to enrich the monasteries which he had founded or repaired. The pope sent him the bodies of SS. Marcellinus and Peter, which Eginhard translated to Strasburg. But soon after he deposited them first at Michlenstad; and afterwards at Malinheim, since called Selgenstad, three leagues from Frankfort, and two from Achaffenburg; where, in 829, he built to their honor a church and monastery, of which he died the first abbot. Besides the life of Charlemagne, and the annals of France, during the reigns of Pepin, Charlemagne, and Louis Debonnaire, he wrote four books in prose, and one in verse, on the translation of SS. Marcellinus and Peter. This translation is also mentioned by Sigebert, Aymoinus, Rabanus Maurus, &c. Pope Gregory the Great preached his twenty homilies on the gospels in the church of SS. Marcellinus and Peter at Rome; as appears from some of them, and from the testimony of John the Deacon.4 See their acts and the history of their translation in Papebroke, t. 1, Junij, p. 170, and Laderchius, Diss. de Basilicis, SS. Marcellini and Petri; Romae, 1705

New FREE App against Pornography - SHARE - #Pornography #App

The New App The Porn Industry Doesn't Want You Knowing About!

Amazing New App that is FREE will help you quit Pornography for good.
 (Download here)
And before you ask, it's available for Apple now and will be available on Android this summer.

5 Reasons You Need The Victory App

I could try to be more excited, but I’d be unsuccessful. The Victory app is here, and it’s going to wreak some serious damage on your—or someone you know’s—porn addiction.
What is the Victory app? It’s a new app that provides a strategic battle plan for victory in the struggle against pornography. Here are five of its features, which, are also five reasons you need to download it now.

1. One Day at a Time

Recovery from porn addiction isn’t something that happens to you, rather, it’s a series of daily — sometimes hourly — choices we make by our actions. The victory app reinforces this by allowing you to track your progress one day at a time. When you open the Victory app you’ll see a calendar displaying the month you’re in. At a quick glance you’ll see the days you had setbacks (indicated by grey squares), the days you experienced victory (indicated by white squares), and even the days you went to the Sacrament of Confession (indicated by green squares).

2. Daily Check-In’s

Morning, Noon, and Night, the Victory app notifies you to check-in. How are you doing – good, okay, bad? You can let the app know if you’ve had a setback, and it will take you to another page to assess that setback – were you bored, lonely, angry, stressed, or tired? What was it that triggered you (got you thinking about looking at porn)? After a couple of months, you’ll be able to check and see how much progress you’ve made from the previous months.

3. Accountability Button (aka, the “Bat Signal”)

In the fight against porn addiction, no person is an island. We need each other. That’s why we’ve put a handy-dandy accountability button (lovingly called the “bat signal”) at the top right-hand side of the screen. In the app “settings,” you can enter up to three accountability partners. In a moment of temptation, you can press this “Accountability button” and those accountability partners will be notified on their phones (even if they’re locked) with this simple message, “Please pray for (your name).” How cool is that?

4. Daily Inspiration

Mark Hart and I have written over 50 entries for daily inspiration. These entries will educate, motivate, and challenge you.

5. It’s Discreet

It’s called Victory, and not, “I wish I could stop looking at porn.” Plus, if someone does try and open the app, they won’t be able to without first entering a four-digit passcode set by you. Take that nosey friend trying to get up in yo bisness.
Finally. It’s free. How much? Free. #YourWelcome #ThankYouAwesomeDonor. Now quit reading and start downloading. Help us and those you love by sharing the news!
The Victory app will check in with you morning, noon, and night, to see how you're doing in your battle against impurity.
